Meaning: “Midway through…” / “In the middle of…”
The structures “～途中で” and “～途中に” are used to indicate that an action or event occurs while another action is in progress but hasn’t yet been completed. Both structures emphasize that something happens in the middle of an ongoing action.

• “～途中で” is often used to indicate an unexpected or sudden event that happens during the course of the main action.
• “～途中に” is often used to indicate a state or continuous action occurring throughout the duration of the main action.
